To foster community involvement in the King Edward revitalisation effort.
To participate in the enhancement of the inner city core with an arts and cultural centre that promotesThe Blues.

NEWS UPDATE NOVEMBER 2007

The City Of Calgary annouced that it will indeed save The King Edward Hotel from the wrecking ball, along with 3 other historic buildings in the cities core. The King Edward is listed by the Calgary Heritage Authority as a Category A heritage site, the highest category in the inventory. Much thanks to Alderman Druh Farrell, city council, all the good citizens that signed our petition, and to the fine folks who worked so hard behind the scene voluteering their time to The Friends Of The Eddy.

NEWS UPDATE MAY 21, 2008

We are pleased to announce that the City of Calgary Municipal Land Corporation has made a final decision to award the rebuilding of The King Edward Hotel to the CANTOS MUSIC FOUNDATION.The Friends of the Eddy supported CANTOS' proposal and have partnered with them to show solidarity and support between our two organisations.
